I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO THANK ALL OF THE NOBILITY WHO HAVE ELECTED ME TO SERVE AS YOUR POTENTATE FOR THE YEAR 2008. IT IS CERTAINLY AN HONOR AND PRIVILEGE TO SERVE. I PLEDGE TO YOU THAT BOTH YOUR ENTIRE BOARD OF DIRECTORS & I WILLWORK TO SERVE YOU AND THE BEST INTERESTS OF IREM AND TO THE CHILDREN THAT WE ALL SERVE.

AS WE START OFF A NEW YEAR, YOUR DIVAN AND BOARD OF DIRECTORSWILL BE OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS THATWILL HELPMOVE US FORWARD, AND HELP OUR GREAT FRATERNITY FLOURISH. REMEMBER THAT IF WE ALLWORK TOGETHER AS A TEAM, WE WILL BE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH A GREAT DEAL. WE ALL MUST REMAIN FOCUSED AND POSITIVE. PLEASE TRY TO REMEMBER THAT WITH GOOD TEAM WORK (TOGETHER EVERYONE ACCOMPLISHES MORE) WE WILL MAKE AMORE POSITIVE IMPACT IN ALL THATWE DO.

FREDERICK SAN FANANDRE ELECTED IREM’S 74TH POTENTATE

The Nobility of Irem Shriners unanimously elected Frederick San Fanandre of Lake Silkworth, Lehman Township their 74th Illustrious Potentate at the annual business meeting and election held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at the Irem Country Club and Shrine Center, Dallas, PA.fredsanfanadre.jpg

Ill. Sir Fred is a member of Kingston Lodge #395, F. & A. M., Kingston, PA and Caldwell Consistory, Valley of Bloomsburg, were he served as Sovereign Prince for 1999-2000. He has been a member of Irem for 16 years and has been active in the Irem Patrol. He also served as President of the Uniformed Units in 1997.

In his community, Ill. Sir Fred is a member of the Lake Silkworth Fire &Ambulance Association, where he served as Ambulance Chief for several years. He is a staff member of the Luzerne County E.M.A. and one of three co-founders for the former Back Mountain Paramedic Unit. Ill. Sir Fred is married to the former Nancy C. Williams of Edwardsville and they have a son, David C. San Franandre, who is also a Shriner. They are members of the Shavertown United Methodist Church and Fred has been employed for the last 30 years by Indalex America in Mountaintop, PA.

Elected with Illustrious Fred San Fanandre were: Noble David E. Warman, Jr., Chief Rabban; Noble W. Roy Smith, Assistant Rabban; Noble Mark D. Mettler, High Priest & Prophet; Noble Albert G. Andres, Jr., Oriental Guide; Noble James J. O’Boyle, Treasurer and Ill. Sir Donald H. Hoppes, P.P., Recorder.

Elected Imperial Representatives: Ill. Sir Frederick San Fanandre, Noble David E. Warman, Jr., Noble Richard A. Shannon and Noble Steven D. Bigus. Elected to the Board of Governors: John G. Richards and David H. Sutton.

A reception honoring all the newly elected officers was held the following day, January 20, 2008 at Irem Country Club, with all Nobles and Ladies in attendance enjoying dancing and refreshments in the Main Dining Room. Irem Shrine wishes Illustrious Sir Fred much success and happiness in the coming year and we are fortunate to have his lovely Lady Nancy with her charm and grace.

Endres Elected Oriental Guide

At the annual election, held January 19, 2008, Noble Albert G. Endres, Jr. of Hughestown, was elected Oriental Guide. alendres.jpg

Noble Al has been an active member of Irem for the past 16 years. He has served in leadership roles in the Provost Guard and has been President of the Uniformed Units. In 2007, Al was elected to the Irem Board of Directors. He is a member of the Irem Golf Association and participates in the Tuesday Night League and the Easy Riders on Wednesdays.

Masonically, Al is a 50 year member of Valley Lodge #499, F. & A.M. in West Pittston, where he served as Worshipful Master, Secretary and Treasurer. To this day, he still confers degrees.

A widower, Albert has worked as a State Building Construction Inspector and he believes his knowledge and background will be an asset to Irem.

All Irem congratulates Al and wishes him much success in his new responsibilities.
